Allotts Removals was established in 1908, trading from Hyde where even today we have an operating centre. When the company started it used horse drawn vehicles that were used on removals and cartage work from local factories. Around 1935 motor vehicles made an appearance, although the horses remained until much later. During the war, there was a need to take furniture into store and ALLOTTS had at their disposal an old church building, which was used as an office and depository.
Services
Within our quotation, we can incorporate services such as packing of glass/china, pictures, other fragile items, or a full packing service incuding books, linens, etc. We can also arrange antiques and furniture which requires and deserves extra protection in transit. If you prefer to carry out your own packing, we can supply all the materials you require, double walled cartons, plain white paper, bubble wrap, tape, etc.
Container Storage: Before leaving our depot to come to your home, our staff will load storage containers by forklift truck onto our purpose built removal vehicles through side opening doors. Goods brought in loose on our vehicle and then put into storage containers. When we arrive at your home to commence loading, an inventory will be taken of everything to be stored.
CLOTHING: Any clothing already on hangers can remain on them as we will provide specialised wardrobe cartons into which these clothes will be packed. All other items of clothing should be packed into suitcases. ACCESS: Access to and from the doorway of your home is critical for our vehicles, please explain to your neighbours in advance that a large vehicle will be parked outside your home and possibly cause some degree of inconvenience to them. Similarly inside your home please ensure that passageways and staircases are left completely clear for our moving teams.

Booked for a complete pack and removal from Hyde to cumbria. 2 days of packing, final packing and driver to cumbria and a day unpacking. Lads were very helpful and did a great job. All settled into our new home. Very happy with the service and a reasonable price under the circumstances that I could not assist due to an accident.
