After considering our own carbon footprint, The Armishaws Group estimated a medium sized removal company could be producing up to 400 tons of CO2 a year. Most of this comes from vehicles, which can emit as much as 1kg of carbon for every kilometre travelled. This revelation prompted us to make a commitment to the environment, across all our removals companies.
Our team of movers and shakers pride themselves on always going the extra mile to deliver outstanding customer service. If you enjoy working hard, are customer focused, have a positive "I can sort it!" Our removals take place across the UK and Europe so overnight stays and some weekends may be required.
Containerised storage is a cost-effective solution for staggered house moves, freeing up space in your home or upscaling your business. We'll take the containers to one of our secure, temperature controlled, purpose-built depots, with 24hr surveillance. One of our friendly removal surveyors will visit your property to give you an accurate quote of the volume of removals storage you'll require. Our crews provide fast, flexible, secure storage when you need it most (sometimes superheroes come in hi-vis jackets!).

Like lots of reviews on here, main complaint is rude central office staff, with absolutely no idea on customer service. 1 container was late, and when it did arrive, the Fridge was damaged (several external dents) on arrival, though a claim was eventually sorted. In 2022, these companies are increasingly becoming like dinosaurs as the power of the consumer review catches up with them.
I would strongly recommend not using a removals company for storage as well, as it makes it difficult to negotiate on delivery date issues, when they are holding your stuff. Here is an copy-paste response from an email when i advised i would be leaving a poor review; "If any part of any review you might place is libellous I will pass your file to our legal department with a view to seeking damages".
Not a pleasant way to speak to a customer who had already paid thousands of pounds for removals and storage services. Not a 1-star review, as the removals teams on the ground were absolutely fine, and quite helpful.

Look elsewhere - this company will let you down, damage your possessions and overcharge you. If you want to know more read this: We booked Overs of Camberley (owned by Armishaws) to move out into storage and move from storage into our new home. What an absolute disaster of service and company! So many things went wrong. We are out of pocket too. What started in good faith ended with a nasty, bitter taste and the realisation the Armishaws are a 'take what you can' type company without any care or consideration for their customers.
Here are the key issues we faced: The price quoted originally was wrong; they added 25% onto the storage fee, but only once they had our items locked into their storage unit. So we had to pay for an additional 325 cubic feet of storage. The quote was done by someone visiting our house; they refused any liability and forced us to pay. We booked our move out of the store, and they couldn't do it for a few weeks after we needed it; we had to pay for more time storage that we didn't need.
We stayed in storage for four months (Jan 21-April 21), and when we booked to move, they increased the onward move price by 42% from the original quote and would not entertain my arranging another removal firm due to COVID restrictions at their warehouse. Again we had to pay over the odds. Our belongings arrived in April. We noticed the damage when the first item was unloaded, not just scratches but significant damage. Smashed wardrobes, sofas damaged, classic furniture ruined, our children's bed snapped.
They even lost the bolts of our son's bed! The list goes on, but the damage totalled 8,000 to replace it all. Armishaws refused to deal with me; they put me in touch with the 'Removal Claims Service', whose sole job was to reduce the claim. They offered us 1,500 We got nothing back for service; their strategy of 'ignore the customer' worked - I just got tired.
The end result, we have a 8,000 claim on our home insurance. The moral of the story? DON'T USE THEM! Please, I really really mean it you can and will find better. I don't wish the emotional hardship we have been through on anyone. Some of our best furniture had to go in the skip, it's really quite sad.

There is nothing wrong with this company. They did a perfectly average job however given the very high price i was expecting something close to a rolls Royce service instead of the ford fiesta one we got (despite the great effort of the men who were sent there on the two days who worked hard). However, the service is no different to a bog standard removal company and certainly doesn't merit the 35-40% premium price.
Its not an upmarket company providing a premium service at all, despite the price. A few things: - Don't be taken in by the 'we undertake removals for the Ministry of Defence' - Once the deposit is paid the service dramatically changes (didnt even have a confirmation a week or a day before the first moving day) - Don't be take in by the sales chap who comes to quote with the mobile printer and the 'we employ all our staff' (if your move is over more than one day dont count on getting the same people on all days - their removal team dont even know until the night before where the company will send them) - Whatever you agree with the sales chap on the details of the move he wont spend anytime after the deposit is paid with the actual removal team who turn up (we had agreed for them to turn up in one type of vehicle so items could be moved from the rear of the house on the driveway and they turned up in a different type which meant it wouldn't fit on the drive - they just got lucky finding an on road parking space as we had not secured a parking restriction permit; we had agreed to dismantle eg trampoline and the removal team said "we never do that" (to be fair to the team they did try and help) - Don't expect things to be packed carefully - nothing wrong with the service but it was bog standard with all sorts of mixed items thrown into random boxes with quite a few things missing, plants put in boxes, things not marked properly, some limited damage to furniture etc - because they are based in the south west of England unless you live there you're effectively paying for them to come to you and it means the removal men wont get to you until after 9am.
They are not national but SW - a week later when tone of their chaps came to take back some of the flattened removal boxes, upon my request, he turned up 1.5hrs late, no apology, no call, no explanation and he turned up in a range rover in a tracksuit so he clearly wasn't at another appointment hence 1.5hrs late. As i said nothing wrong with the company, but just a bog standard removal company and not worth the premium Pickford like price.

Really bad! they underestimate our belonging and couldn't fit all of them on the van, they said there were more items than they had seen and said we didn't check there item list and we should have updated it, however how can a person possibly itemise every item, we trusted that the man estimating would know what he was doing after checking each room and cupboards etc. we had since then thrown a skip load of items way so there were less.
He quoted a price and we paid our deposit in good faith, later we decided to go for full pack, we also asked for more boxes but they said why bark when you have a dog. Only 2 guys came to pack the whole house the day before and finish the day after and move, we had done quite a bit of packing prior ourselves and dismantling beds how they would have coped if we had not done this, well obviously they didn't, our belongings we hurriedly packed in a shambolic way.
And no reassembling of beds either. We moved to Wales form Surrey on route I get a call from my estate agent saying there were still loads of our belongings not collected, I called Armishaws and told them they then collected them, they are now not giving us our belongings until we pay another 1775 on top of what we have paid, the staff have been aggressive and rude when we called and on email putting the fault completely on us and said we are lucky they didn't charge more! Our belongings are now being held to ransom unless we pay this money! Do yourself a favour use another company!

ZERO STARS. Made an enquiry about them possibly assisting us in moving from our flat to a new house next month, from the first conversation with whoever was in charge of the phones I knew things weren't right. The woman was extremely rude and sharp, stating I must be on my own whilst surveyor was there, for personal reasons, I didn't feel happy or safe with that.
When the surveyor turned up, he was equally rude, told me to turn off my tv and concentrate on what he was saying. He scoffed at the quality of the furniture we have and basically kicked my grandson's baby walker out of his way, thankfully the baby wasn't in it! After he had done his survey, the estimate was ridiculously high, apparently we would have to have 2 days to do the load up, using 2 large vehicles, drive 145 miles, and unload, we'd have to foot the cost for the guys having an overnight stay wherever they wanted.
I challenged him and said all our stuff originally was transported in a Luton van and we still had room to spare, and it could all be done in one day, he basically hurried his way out. For anyone looking to use this company. DON'T! Rude, unprofessional, lazy as don't want to deal with first floor flats, money grabbing etc etc.

Overall a fairly good job but there were a few issues. A nice man came to size up the job and quote; so far so good. On the day they were very late arriving. I had to ring to find out where they were; turned out their truck had a puncture the day before and they were getting it fixed - why didn't they call to update us? When they did arrive they sent an extra team of men to speed it all up but it all got a bit frantic and some things were packed that should have been left.
Next day the delivery was by a different team of men who weren't familiar with the load so it took a bit longer than it should have. I had agreed to do most of the unpacking; Armishaws were going to pick up the empty boxes later. I waited and waited and called and waited but they never showed. Eventually they said I should dispose of them my self. They could have made that decision a lot sooner. I got a 'white van man' to come and get them - he was delighted. So was I. Nearly 3 stars but just edging into 4 stars.

I had used Armishaws in the UK some years ago with good results, so went straight to them again for an international move this summer. From initial contact, through customs paperwork and packing in the UK to arrival in our new home in Europe, I found them to be very professional and helpful. It was a slightly complex job, as we were only moving some of our possessions and the delivery location was not accessible to a large vehicle, but only the right stuff found its way onto the van and everything was taken in their stride.
It was particularly helpful that they were able to accommodate some short notice changes from us without stress. I found the office staff and the operators to be professional and courteous throughout. The end result was on time, with nothing lost and no damage to either our possessions, walls or door frames. It was particularly welcome that the delivery crew made sure our new neighbours were not inconvenienced. Will definitely use them again.

Office staff is absolutely RUDE! We have used them previously to have our army furniture moved with no problems.in this instant there was. Our furniture was to be delivered the next day'. However according to their drivers they were sent on another transport booking. This meant that the delivery was not delivered as agreed and we were in an empty home all day. Rang the receptionist to find out what was happening and was told that someone will ring up back.
Three hours later and nothing so rang back only to have this gobby receptionist act like my concerns were beneath her and she hung the phone up. Absolutely rude and then trying to say when we rang back that she didn't hang up but in the same breath that I was speaking to her in an aggressive manner. Aggressive I was not, but angry and frustrated I was.
To be in customer services you need proper training to deal with all customers. If you're not prepared for it I suggest you find another job. Absolutely disgusting service and I wish I had gotten her name.

Probably the worst removal firm anywhere. Money grabbers at every opportunity, rock bottom on customer relations and not averse to telling a few fibs. Estimate for removal to Spain was & 7500 00, final bill was 10,500. Used every trick in the book to their advantage. Transport Manager promised delivery in Spain on specific date. Never turned up. Excuse was technical problem. Arrived next day. Drivers knew nothing about delivery previous day as their work schedule had always been day they delivered. Very strange. Management and Admin staff all need retraining. My mistake was trusting their literature and promises rather than checking Google reviews.

(No stars) I am left in a state of shock prior to our proposed house move for next week as yesterday I got a call from Armishaws to say there are no more lorries left to do our move! Even though I had paid the 100 deposit on the day I reserved them some months ago (they were insistent I paid the deposit immediately), I have weekly updated Lauren in the office on our plans but could never confirm 100% on the date as our exchange still hasn't taken place (no fault of ours).
They didn't even phone to say they were close to being booked out that day, they just said they could no longer help us and that they will return my deposit (by cheque, although I paid by direct debit on the phone). So they have my 100 deposit and I don't have removers. I would suggest to anyone not to use them as you do not need this additional stress during your move.

After booking an international move back to the UK, deposit paid, they pulled out at 3 weeks notice leaving us at the mercy of outrageous last minute quotes and desperate. We were selling our house and faced penalties if the handover was not done. Some of my military extended family have been happier.

My husband and I wanted to tell you how pleased we were with your two colleagues, John and Rob, that brought our belongings up to Edinburgh. They arrived on time and were very careful with all our belongings and extremely helpful. We were very pleased with their work and in particular how they managed our heavy sofas. Please will you pass on our thanks and commendation to them both? They did a super job.
