I have had very poor service from Maidmens this time, which is such a pity as I have used them for very many years. I paid their very expensive quote (over 3 times what I paid 6 years ago for essentially the same items) for the full packing service. In the past, and according to their website this includes unpacking and removal of cartons. They only sent 2 men for a removal from a first floor flat to a first floor maisionette, and for heavy items such as wardrobes this just wasn't enough manpower.
They damaged the walls and woodwork up the stairs and didn't even apologise. The men were literally running to just unload in time, so I was left to unpack. As they did not have time to unpack and remove the cartons, I telephoned Maidmans a couple of days later to say that I had unpacked and the cartons and packing paper were at the end of the drive ready for collection.
I was told by them that they would not be able to collect them for several days, and if it rained in the meantime they would not collect them at all. True to their word, the cartons are still at the end of the drive. I will be chasing for a refund and compenstion. This was very far from a stress free removal service, and their response to my complaint has been non-existent which is why I am leaving this review and taking this to the ombudsman.

Just wanted to say thank you to Maidmans for their excellent service. We engaged the company to pack everything up as well as do the actual removal.
Phil and Mark were both absolute stars - hard-working, very professional and efficient, and very patient with my elderly mum (it was her house move). Also a shout-out to the office staff, who were unfalingly helpful and friendly. We really couldn't have chosen a better company. Very impressed!
