Patchett's is one the oldest companies trading in Upminster, having commenced business in 1929 when two brothers, Oswald and William Patchett, opened a grocery and provision store in St. Mary's Lane (opposite the now Waitrose site). In 1946, after World War II, a fruiterers and greengrocery department was added and they traded from two shops at 304/306 St. Mary's Lane. The business continued until the fifties when the partnership was dissolved and William sold the grocery business and departed to Cornwall to open an hotel.

Hired Patchett's for the second time Friday the 6th of May to take care of our property when making our latest move. Once again the service was excellent and they provided me with a very competitive price. Patchett's are a local family run business and I cannot speak highly enough of their professionalism. My experience with pachetts was very poor in deed. From the very start i found them to be very hard to contact they seemed very unconcerned about belongings of mine that did not turn up on my move to spain. Although they clearly are on my itinary list I have called them many times they anever get back to you. I find pachetts to be very uncaring with peoples personal belongings. and in my opinion i would strongly recomend you th8nk again before chosing pachetts to take care of your removals.do not trust this company

Moved from Hutton to Billericay. Not only were they the cheapest quote of 5 companies we asked, but Mr Patchett Snr himself came to quote. A lovely bloke. The guys were really helpful providing extra packing stuff when we asked. On the big day, our move was held up a few hours. Again the guys were great and when we eventually got the keys they had unloaded and re-assembled all our furniture within three hours, finishing in the evening with no complaints at all. They were recommended to me and I really recommend them.

Patchetts was recommended by a friend to handle my move abroad. I was very impressed when he first handled the packing of my valuables and household contents, i was supplied with boxes and paper.superb! i became uneasy when my worldly posessions didnt arrive on time, I was told they were busy and gave lots of excuses. Finally it came furniture took Patchetts 1 month to arrange its delivery. i had moved in with no furniture for that period.

He took no responsibility!. I discovered several items were missing and still They refuse to take responsibility yet again! i am so frustrated i am currently seeking legal advice. Just be carefull regarding this firm Avoid!
