Sales good at taking your money up front. Removal men play good cop, bad cop. One extremely rude, the other apologising for behaviour but doing nothing about it. Rude one refused to wear a mask when he was supposed to! No response from management. Can't see how they stay in business.

Just over a year ago we used this company to move and it has taken the same amount of time to get them to take responsibility for damages and a theft We moved just before the first lockdown which means (building/decorating) it took us longer to notice damages and a theft due to all of the mess but P Goddard showed absolutely no sympathy whatsoever Some very expensive furniture and paintings were damaged and as I said.something was stolen to the value of 400+. (Receipt provided) As soon as we found out, we took pictures and sent them to P Goddard. Months later (although they said there were skeleton staff working) they replied basically saying it's your problem I kept hounding them about the theft and they advised us to report the theft to the police which we did and we provided them with crime reference number. Weeks later I heard nothing from them and contacted them to see what they were going to do and they said they were waiting for the police to contact them.

This went on for months. P Goddard knew the police wouldn't contact them. I contacted the police to see if there was anything that could be done and they advised they couldn't help. P Goddard have now started ignoring my emails which is unprofessional. The whole set up is unprofessional. I am in the middle of taking this further as I do not feel it is right to let a so called 'professional' business to treat people in this way. My recommendation would be not to recommend this company.

Goddard's were extremely professional yet had the warmth & flexibility of a family firm. We found them very helpful, very cheerful! And came at the times promised. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and the price was very competitive. Thank you

They sell absolutely rubbish packing products - their tape doesn't even stay stuck to the thin, easy to fall apart and rip boxes that they provide! In fact I haven't found their tape to stick to anything properly and even cheap clear box tape from 1 type stores have been better quality than the rubbish they sold me at high prices. Also, the old guy in there couldn't be more rude, could he?

When asking about the packaging products they advertise outside of their shop, he basically denied selling most of them! Eventually he conceded that he could sell me a few boxes and some tape, as a favour you know! What a tool.

Used last year extremely disappointing storage service.all plates and glasses broken and a few months old Smart TV internally broken during transportation. Bad customer service and was unable to claim via their insurance. Worst experience EVER!

AVOID! Awful company. used them for storage. damaged most of my furniture and clothes - if it hadnt been thrown, dropped or squashed it was water damaged. games consoles disappeared as well as a number of other things, then refused to take responsibility horrible disgusting people.

Amazing place. Two floors of what - at first glance looks like junk - but is actually some very nice furniture. Historic and lovely older assistants. You could spend ages just marveling at everything.

We used Goddard's for our removal and had an excellent experience, fast friendly and efficient finding quick solutions to getting large furniture from the upper floors of our house. Would definitely recommend.

This furniture shop is full of second hand urine-stained and cat-ravaged sofas, which have been inexplicably diverted from landfill by their removals business. Visit for a laugh, or if you want to see a collection of chairs which someone's grand dad died and started decomposing in - but not before his catheter came loose and he discharged his bowels.
