We recently chose Brycelands to move homes. They were very quick to respond to my emails and gave a quote no fuss. On the day of the move the vans turned up punctual early morning raring to go The staff were very helpful, friendly and hard working and got the vans packed in quick time. We were over to our new house before mid day and managed to grab lunch prior to receiving the keys.

With unpacking again very hard working and on the ball, always double checking where we wanted things to go. Moving home is so hard but Brycelands made it so easy. Thank you so much. Would definitely recommend.

Critical: Professionalism Disgraceful service. Refused to accommodate a conference call via zoom or Whassap and insisted on recording a video walk round on their own app. When I objected they put the phone down on me. Poor customer service.

I accept whenever I read a review that there are two sides to every story and nothing is straight forward in a poor review. Our experience with this company also had two sides; the actual move team were exceptional and highly recommended (they were actually subcontractors), but the quote and office management of the contract was appalling. We thought the office were super diligent when they sent agents twice; one to quote and one to check they agreed with the price, which they did.

Yet apparently they decided it was wrong in the end and jumped the cost well over 1000 just before the move was happening. With already being packed in their boxes and no chance to go elsewhere, we had to proceed. The move itself took far less time than this new quote (1.5 days and a night in a hotel less), yet even though we were advised we would be refunded for the extra night's hotel and the extra time not needed ( all that had been added at the eleventh hour), it turned out not to be so and only after some difficult emails exchanges did they offer a paltry 250.

The reasoning was that they still had to pay the team for the hotel that was not used and the days they did not work. even though the original quote was actually correct after all. I have refused to accept the 250 in disgust and have decided to draw a line and close the matter with them, but then to use the power of my professional life in ensuring they are not used as an approved contractor and also to use the "review" pathway to air my disappointment in such a company who is apparently reputed for their standards and service.

I was recommended to them personally, but I find that I cannot recommend them either personally or professionally. If you do use them be very aware that the price can change literally days before you move and you have no recourse.

Great customer service from start to finish of what was a stressful process. The movers on the day did a speedy job and all belongings survived the trip. Special mention for Scott and Kerry, thanks for you patience and time on the phone answering questions. Service: Local removals

We enjoyed first class service from Brycelands in our move into rented accommodation. They were courteous, flexible and friendly. Terry and his teams did a great job. We moved an exceptionally large quantity of belongings which they expertly packed and there was not a single breakage. All in all we can highly recommend Brycelands.

Faultless service on the day. Our removals team was punctual, friendly, professional and packed up our furniture in no time. Because of issues in our chain we had to rearrange our moving dates several times at the last minute and this wasn't a problem. Only slight gripe was that pre-move correspondence could have been better, had to chase for an email confirmation

Brycelands made our move during lockdown an absolute breeze, they were very professional and guided us all the way. On the day of the move they were prompt, polite and just got the job done - I can't recommend them enough! Thank you!

Asked them to quote for two house moves into one. Surveyor was meant to come yesterday to see both houses so he could quote. No one turned up to say they were running late or anything. Phoned them up to find out what has happened and got brushed off with "we will phone you back" followed that up with an email to the person who made the appointment.

No response and no apology. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else that cares about customer service. If they can't turn up for the survey appointment would you want to risk them not turning up on the day of your move?

Brycelands truly made moving house easy! From our first enquiry, through to the packing, shipping and careful delivery of our goods, they were just fantastic. Their floor protectors were excellent! The office staff were helpful and couldn't do enough to help us. They were also more than happy to talk us through the terms and conditions on the move and the insurance too, to be sure that we knew what was included and what assurances we had, if things went south (which I am pleased to say they didn't!). I have to say a lot of other companies didn't take the time to do this. Such good attention to detail and customer service! We cannot recommend them highly enough.

Brycelands moved us last Friday. I cannot thank them enough. The team arrived on time. They were professional and courteous at all times. They worked with great speed, efficiency and care and they solved all the little issues that arose. What a difference they made to what could have been a stressful move. We felt in great and safe hands throughout Thank you so much Lisa & Martyn

Laughably incompetent removal service. I ended up with multiple items damaged during the move, carpets wrecked as the removal men trampled mud throughout the house despite both myself and the lead asking them to walk on paths and put down cardboard. Boxes were packed with astonishing levels of packing paper an iPhone charger was wrapped in 17 sheets of paper, the plastic spout for dishwasher received 11 sheets whilst a Canon 5D SLR camera was put into a b ox with no packing at all.

As they were so inefficient at packing they ran out of space for some additional items and so they wanted 800 to pick up a sofa, an armchair, a mattress and chest of drawers. Avoid like the plague and use literally any other removal service available to you.

Did I make the right choice? We had a large move which didn't phase these guys. They were efficient, polite, conscientious and hard working. So yes I made the right choice. Thanks Brycelands.

Incredibly disappointing. Terrible communication from start to finish. Having told them an upright piano was to be collected, two guys show up with no necessary equipment to move a piano. They had to call for 'back up' and 5 men had to lift the piano up 4 feet into the back of the van as there were no wheels or ramp to roll the piano up. Not only did the step in my house get damaged, the back of the piano was chipped as well. Appalling.

The office team said they would get this fixed. They haven't, and now have the cheek to tell me I am to get the chip fixed and quoted within 7 days of delivery. Seriously pathetic. Expensive, and terrible service. Avoid.

I can not recommend Brycelands enough, the service was as described, fast, friendly and extremely efficient, they were the most cost effective to choose from and easy to communicate with. All the worries I had were answered quickly and in a cheerful manner. The removal guys were awesome, packed everything extremely well to avoid damaged which I had none. They moved it to France and were just as good on that side. Would use again without hesitations

Rating, minus any stars. I stored my furniture with this company for approximately twelve years. Costing me a substantial amount of money. I however was happy to do this as they "sold " themselves to me as professionals who would care for my goods, some with great sentimental value and therefore irreplaceable. When I asked for them to be removed from storage and delivered to my new address last May I can only say I was truly heartbroken.

What they hadn't "lost" (no explanation) during the twelve years had either been broken, water damaged or not in a fit condition to be used. Brycelands comment? They are perplexed! So am I Brycelands. If as you state the damage didn't occur during storage, why have you given me 2,000? No amount of money will ever replace my damaged lifetime possessions.and to be told family photos many of family members no longer with us are only worth the paper they are printed on is only rubbing salt into a very raw wound! Still thinking of using Brycelands? Go ahead. Good luck

This is the first time we have used Bryceland's Removal Services and all I can say is we received first class service. The removal men loaded the lorry with great care for our belongings. The arrived promptly, introduced themselves and didn't stop working. They were all loaded up with first load within the hour and we were off to our new home. They unloaded and placed all boxes in the correct rooms for us, even helped my Husband put items in the loft.

Then they went for the next load. We were in our new home with all boxes, garden furniture etc by 2.30pm. Incredible service, nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend to Bryceland's to anyone looking for a hassle free move. Great Work Lads!

Herts to Herts move 2015. Most expensive of our 4 quotes but their front man seemed professional but the rest of the team were definitely not. Told 3 vehicles would be used but only provided 2., Day 1 one operative arrived with broken hand (a third of workforce on day one) Left at 3.30pm on first day and said they would complete next day. Finished by 12 and went off to new address where they blocked the driveway of new neighbours when there was no need as plenty of room to park outside our new house.

Just wanted to unload and go as it was a Friday. Items marked fragile were loaded one on top of one another. Although all furniture, boxes and rooms etc were marked they kept putting items in wrong rooms and I had to keep asking for them to be moved. Items they wrapped they didn't want to wait to unwrap. First lorry loaded was delivered the day after we moved by agreement.

Main man was not available. There were arguments between other members of the gang about who was doing what. A box of gin and cava went missing. Microwave was dropped and damaged beyond repair. Fridge dented. Feet lost of freezer and fridge. Numerous dents and scratches over most pieces of furniture all of which was old pine and Victorian mahogany which we had lovingly collected over 40 years of marriage.

Dirty blankets were used to cover furniture and these left sticky black residue of some items. Our compensation for all this damage was 250 because they said we could not prove the damage was not there already or that there was a box of gin/cava. A lesson to us all is to take photo's of all furniture before they are loaded onto their vans. Have them count the number of boxes they load.

I am really grateful we did not let them transport any china/glass pictures and books. It has taken me a long time to decide to post this review but as I look around my house and see the damage caused by this company I think it is only fair to warn others. I would never recommend this company to anyone under any circumstances.

We recently moved a very short distance in Cambridge and used Cambridge removal services. There were fantastic! All of the guys were very polite and thoughtful. They worked tirelessly to pack all of our belongings in a timely manner. There was not one breakage, it was all very smooth and stress free. I would certainly recommend them and would use them again.

If it were possible to leave less than one star, that's what I would do. Where to start with the litany of errors, damage, inconvenience caused by Brycelands? I actually had a four stage experience with them which involved (a) packing my effects, (b) removal upon sale, (c) storage of furniture and effects until my purchase was completed, and (d) removal from storage to my new house. Stages (a) and (b) actually went well so perhaps one star is merited.

The problems began at stage (c), when the team carrying out the move managed to damage and break several items of furniture - leather sofas scratched, wooden furniture scratched and chipped, wooden floors scratched and ceiling lights smashed (with celing plaster gouged). Their response to this was to note cheerfully that the insurance would "sort it".

The team ended up arguing and swearing at each other - not exactly confidence inspiring and the height of unprofessionalism. Once this disaster of a move had been completed, (i.e. after I had got rid of them once they had brought all items into my property - but not unpacked, which I didn't want them to do as I had lost all confidence in them by then), I unpacked my boxes myself and that's when I realised the following additional problems: Several bed mattress slats missing Items packed up in boxes broken (e.g., computer keyboard, lamps) A Dyson vaccuum cleaner missing (!) To resolve this took me countless calls and emails with Brycelands: the owner's son did try to help (organising furniture repairs) and eventually cut me a cheque to cover damage and the missing Dyson - by then I was just keen to see the back of this firm so I accepted this settlement.

He did tell me he had fired two of the team that had caused such mayhem and that my experience was atypical. After that I had to spend a substantial amount of time sourcing replacement lights to match the smashed ceiling lights and missing bed slats, and organising a proper repair to the celing (plaster and paint). All in all I can heartily say I regret choosing Brycelands - it caused severe inconvenience and unnecessary stress; on engagement Brycelands promised to minimise ths stress of moving but they actually did the polar opposite. AVOID.
