Once you have found your new home and your offer has been accepted, it's time to start your moving house checklist! With no complications, a straightforward move can take around 8 weeks to go through. It's essential to get the legal side in place early on to ensure a smooth transaction of your property sale or purchase.

As an independently audited member of the premier international relocation network - FIDI - when you entrust your move to Shore Porters you can rest assured that your possessions are in the very safest of hands.
Your belongings are packed at your home in specially-designed storage containers, which are secured and transferred to our store in Aberdeen until you require them. These containers are, of course, clean, dry and secure, and customers are charged per container per week. Our vehicle comes to your home, removes the items for storage and returns to our dedicated furniture depository, where your consignment is stacked away safely and securely, dust-sheeted and name-tagged.The cost is based on what you store and how long you choose to store it making it cost effective for bulky or oversized items such as large sofas, display cabinet, cars, caravans, trailers, boats, etc.

From start to finish dealing with Shore Porters was great. The pre move survey was carried out quickly & professionally. The quote arrived that afternoon and was fair. The actual move was a breeze. They had 4/5 on the job and a 5 bed house was emptied in 3 hours. The guys were really friendly & helpful.

Got to say we have had a great experience with shore porters. We are in norfolk and all of our stuff was in storage in aberdeen. Shore porters picked it up, repacked and delivered it to us. We didnt even have. to be there. Richard Henderson and Sandy in accounts were super helpful and the fellas who came in on the day couldnt do enough for us. Really appreciate all their help. We have used Shore Porters twice recently for international moves. I have to say that the move itself in both directions has been fine and the office staff in Aberdeen are great. The problem comes with the inevitable small insurance claim for damaged items. I don't have a problem that some things got damaged, it is going to happen and that is why we pay for insurance.
However I would like the insurance to pay when things are damaged. We had problems with the insurance on our outward move, trying to avoid paying and making the claim process as difficult as possible, but we thought it was a one off and so when we moved back we used them again. Same thing. Move ok but some small damage. Every bit of small print possible being used to try and get out of paying a very reasonable small claim, and when we object they put such an onerous workload on us to prove it that we give up as there is too much else to do.
Insurance is an important part of the customer service of a company and the handling of our claim made us feel that we were trying to cheat them. Too bad but we won't be back. Only gave 2 stars because the movers themselves were good.

I have used Shore Porters twice in the past. Friendly office staff, arrived when they said they would, price as estimated and very curteous packers/removers. Was a little concerned when one of them arrived with a 'sh*t happens' badge on given he was about to pack up my entire life to put into storage but it all worked out in the end! Would be more than happy to recommend!

I recently used Shore Porters as part of a move. The office staff were very friendly and helpful, I had one point of contact who was always ale to give accurate details on status. They arrived when they said they would, the drivers were very professional, friendly and helpful. As well as offering moving services they also do storage. One of the superior companies in this field in my opinion. They know their stuff!
