Martells Of Sutton Ltd We are a family-run business which started in 1917 at Elephant and Castle, South East London. The shop moved to Sutton in 1923 and remained in the area until 2020. We now have a department store and a removals and storage facility in East Grinstead, West Sussex. Martell's have been operating within the Removals and Storage industry for half a century and are proud to offer our services both locally and internationally. Our East Grinstead shop moved in 2017 from Queens Walk to the Whitehall on London Road where we now have 3 floors for you to explore.
Services
We offer an extensive range of mattresses, divan sets, ottoman storage beds, adjustable beds, bedframes and headboards from top leading brands including Vi Spring, Relyon, Dunlopillo, Harrison Spinks, Kaymed, Hypnos and Shakespeare. All models are available in a range of sizes from single to super king size.
Dunlopillo offers a unique, luxurious and extremely comfortable sleeping experience, whilst retaining all of the original benefits of sleeping on a mattress made from 100% natural and sustainable materials. The Collection from Dunlopillo is made from pure pressure-relieving latex. Dunlopillo also add a layer of 7-Zone Dunlopillo Latex to all their models which gives an excellent climate control.
With well over a century of history to its name, Harrison Spinks has earned itself a reputation as one of the UK's most respected luxury bed manufacturers. This British family-owned business has been making its own luxury pocket sprung mattresses since 1889, with a particular focus on quality, sustainability and comfort.
British luxury bed manufacturer Hypnos has been making bespoke beds and mattresses by hand in the UK for over 100 years, combining traditional skills with modern production techniques. Its reputation for service excellence is further reinforced by a Royal Warrant from HM The Queen. In 2012, Hypnos also became the first carbon-neutral bed maker in the UK.

I've always liked the traditional shop experience approach of Martells of Sutton. Very well stocked shop, with great department store type ranges. From kids toys to bedding to kitchenware to lighting. All here.

Called in to the pre-sale special. Very busy, but plenty of helpful staff on hand for furniture purchasing / info. Long queue to the checkout, but worth it as there were some great bargains. Support your local department store!

What a pleasant surprise. Tucked away upstairs so we didn't know it was there, not living in East Grinstead. But it's got great stock.

Excellent customer service. One item missed off delivery in error - it happens - but they arranged for it be re- delivered promptly. Would definitely return. Thank you.

I must admit, we only really visit the toy department with our 4yr old, but we love it. Plenty of choice and also a little cafe right next to it too. The staff are friendly and helpful. To be honest, having recently not been as impressed as hoped in Harrods toy dept in London, I actually prefer Martells toy dept by a long shot. Perhaps not quite as much choice, but not far off. But the layout and space and thoughtfulness of the customer experience is much higher.

The new location is a vast improvement on the last and it even has a spacious cafe with a great choice on the menu. It looks immaculately clean at the moment so let's hope they keep up the high standard.

Utterly pathetic staff. I went into the shop with my friends and we quickly received dirty looks from the people at the till. We continued to look around the shop and we headed to another section, whilst still being treated rudely. We were denied access to said section of the shop even though everyone else could go there. I truly believe they are some kind of hell children and the behaviour of a few of them even reminded me of the orphan from the horror film, Orphan.

I do hope the behaviour of these soggy carrots improves very quickly. What about when I have kids and want to buy toys for them? What about when I have a house and need furniture? I certainly won't be obtaining these objects from your store! I am appauled.
