Moving from a six bedroom family house after 30 years is a daunting prospect. Bringing up a family of three children who have all left and have their own family, along with two working parents taking retirement, at the same time is probably the most stressful changes in anyone's life. In addition, moving out of the area to the Isle of Wight, certainly mounts up the challenges for a removal company.

From the first day I contacted JA Steel, to the visit of the assessor, and the planning process, everyone was patient and understanding. We had to dispose of large furniture and accumulated belongings, and treasured items, and also clear the house of unwanted items. J A Steel & son moved me earlier this month 12th April. When I say I was expecting 3 middle aged moody men but turned up 3 young lads full of jokes and laughter. I honestly can not remember their actual names but the names I gave them; arms, muscles and abs. The morning of as you can imagine with kids everything is last minute, still chucking things in boxes bags anything I could find.

Dead on half 9 in the morning my phone rings its them. I invite them in very polite and respectful. I asked if they had boxes on the van which they did! Thank god for that, so things was put in any Box I could fit something. They moved everything with efficency and made it look pretty easy if I must say. Once they reached the new property they put things where I told them I wanted them.

I had my neices present and they said hi and was pulling faces at them too they are only 3 and 2 years old. Honestly could write such a long review about the company and these lads as it was such a great experience but I have to cut it short. Thanks again guys you did perfect.

The team were fantastic on the day moving my elderly parents-in-law. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they took the time to make the move as stress free as possible. The second part of the move was to a 1st floor flat on a busy road. Again couldn't have asked for more. 10/10. Also need to mention the office staff who kept us fully informed and confirmed all the details in plenty of time. Highly recommended.

The team was very helpful and acted in a professional manner. I was a bit worried that my items would get damage during the removal process but I must say that didn't happen and I was super happy. Critical: Professionalism Not sure on their moving skills but their staff have no care for any standards as I witnessed three plastic bottles being chucked out one of there lorries reg YN69 CAV last Wednesday. Probably best to avoid.

Critical: Professionalism I am one of many people who have had high value items stolen whilst in storage with this removal company. See trustpilot reviews. I fell for the sales tactics of the this company's salesperson, none of what he promised came to pass. Especially not the promise that my effects would be 100% safe with them. Beware!

Moving at Christmas is stressful enough - but the team at JA Steel made the move quickly and efficiently. The crew who moved us were friendly and kept our spirits up with their happy attitude. Can highly recommend them for their care and attention.

I was recently moved by JA steel and sun and not only did they break my refrigerator they stole item from my house damaged just about everything they put their hands on left my furniture out in the rain and this movie was literally across the car park from one building to another I would advise people to steer clear of JA steel and son and get someone else.

The team from Steele was incredibly professional, helpful and just plain excellent. They were careful, conscientious and considerate and really were doing heir best to do a good job and give excellent service. When we have the second part of our move, we will use them again

A massive thank you to JA Steel & Son who kindly donated & delivered more than 200 boxes to St John the Evangalist Church in Palmers Green to assist the work of volunteers who are sorting & packing the many clothing donations given by the local population for the Afghan refugees. Without the kind generosity of local companies like JA Steel & Son this massive task would be so very much harder.

JA Steel and Son handled my move from London to the North of England smoothly and efficiently. Tony and the team could not have been more helpful, friendly or professional: they really went the extra mile, and I felt reassured throughout that my belongings were in safe hands. Everyone in the office was courteous and pleasant throughout. Particular thanks are due to Norene. I am very happy with the service I received, and would not hesitate to recommend JA Steel and Son.

Writing this review as a warning to potential customers - do NOT use this company. We are devastated as several items are missing from our collection which was in storage with J A Steel, who charged 350 a month, with *insurance on top at 70*, to find that we have breakages and missing (presumably stolen) items. The missing items are the most upsetting - wedding gifts my parents had kept from years ago and precious books, which we can't get back. J A Steel are also refusing to fulfil the insurance guarantee because we packed the items ourselves - total rubbish. Apparently, other customers have had a similar experience. We will be taking this to Trading Standards - this is not a reputable company and you should not use them.

Easy move, 3 lovely guys. Really fast and nothing was to much.

Carried out a removal for a very ill relative. The removal men made disparaging comments at the time, saying the stuff was "all rubbish" (we didnt take notice at the time). We naively had labelled all the boxes with their contents. Upon unpacking, turns out that the removal men had taken many of the valuable items, some of them precious family possessions, which then made sense as regards to their comments, and kept many of the boxes in their van, probably to sell on. Contacted the company to investigate - incredibly rude response back. Reported to the police and trading standards. Incredibly upsetting experience all round.

Would definitely not recommend to use - so angry I never leave reviews of any company, but if there is one positive from this experience, take the bad experience we had and avoid using this removal company

We used J A Steel for a recent house move and have also used them for storage of household goods. They have always been efficient and professional. I particularly rate their packing/unpacking service as they have a good range of specialist packing products. The guys that did the move got on with the job at a good pace and were careful with our belongings. I would recommend their services

As per title - what more could you ask for from a removal company. Very friendly when dealing on the phone and the men did a great job on the day!! I had an expensive cabinet that I was worried about but it got to my new home unscathed. The removal men arrived at 8.00 as arranged and had the van loaded within a few hours. There was a bit of a delay at the other side with the handing over of the keys, but the men didn't mind waiting - great service - thoroughly recommend.

We moved from Alexandra Palace to Enfield last week. The two removal men were very professional. They arrived exactly at 8am and finished putting everything in the van 2 hours later. They waited patiently at our new house for a number of hours until we received the keys and unloaded everything in the right rooms. Would definitely use them again in future.
