Quite staggering how customer service still exists like that of David Dale. Moving house is probably the most stressful event for most people and David Dale is acutely aware of this, however he runs this business like Ackwright's shop. My chain suffered incredibly bad luck which meant my move date in 2018 was constantly up in the air. Given I was moving literally around the corner from their head office, I went local and booked with David Dale.

When it became clear that my move date wasn't happening (right before Christmas), not only did they refuse to move the date, said they were fully booked into the New Year, they also took my money and I never received a refund. I subsequently found a brilliant company in York called Hughes's. Gave me a flexible date and accommodated straight after the New Year.

I've since moved again and used Hughes's for this move too. Avoid David Dale at all costs. Total lack of integrity in the way this business operates and just stuck in the dark ages. His condescending agism style of talking down to you didn't wash with me, however it may leave others feeling pressured into a corner should the inevitable unexpected event happen (which it probably will).

David Dale carried out our move from York to Harrogate this September. They were nothing short of fabulous. After cancelling a week before as we thought our house sale was falling through, they then managed to pick things back up 3 days before our move, which turned out to be back on! Starting a day early to accommodate a storage unit and just wanting to get ahead on the job, they stored securely overnight, carrying out the main job the day after.

All the guys who worked on the job were excellent. Uniformed, personable and nothing was too much trouble - even if we could have boxed a few more things (sorry Nigel!). We would recommend David Dale without hesitation. Great value, great communication and just all round brilliant. More than we could have expected.

Excellent service from start to finish. Good communications, friendly helpful staff. All goods including fragile items delivered with no damage.

We were very impressed with the service we received from a recent home removal to France from the UK. Both Nev and Dan were really helpful, professional and made what could have been a stressful experience slick and efficient. European removals, South of France to North Wales. A very impressive operation. They visited us prior to the move to assess access and check load estimate. We were kept informed of their movements and precise details of ETA. All four of the staff were courteous, helpful, efficient and cheerful, Dan & Mark pick up, Nigel and Keiron delivery. We mustn't forget Mr. Dale in the office who coped with a late change of plan. We would unreservedly recommend this company.

Terrible customer service. Quoted a figure then a few weeks before our move increased it by half as much again! Didn't have a good explanation why, just decided the move was going to take longer. The owner/MD's emails were also incredibly rude. Avoid.

Excellent service all round. David Dale removals moved my sister and they went over & above her expectations in the rain! She would highly recommend them as the people to call when moving home. The guys put items in whichever rooms where required. First class!

We moved in not the best weather conditions but it was well organised from start to finish. All boxes and packaging was supplied which takes an issue away and we received it about a week before the move. On the day of the move they on time and were a friendly bunch of lads and started of with 2 cups of tea lol. They worked hard and efficiently and withing 3 hours we were ready for the off.

Once we arrived at the new property the van was unpacked with the same efficiently as the loading. The move was completed withing 6 hours. Nothing was damaged during the move not even a glass, so would highly recommend if you need a removal company, and once again i say thanks to the 3 fella''s during the move

Sending all our personal well loved stuff to the other. side of the world. From the care and consideration of the boys who arrived to help us pack everything. To a few months later. The boys on the other side of planet delivering with care every box.

And as it was my daughter and i meeting the truck. The boys put into any room within house. Upstairs especially. whatever we needed carrying. JILL. we cant thanku enough. We used David Dale removals for our recent move from the north of England to France. From beginning to end the teams were polite and courteous, the initial survey was thorough, and done in a Covid secure way; the packing (over 2 days) was non-stop and the subsequent delivery and offloading (by a different team) was done very quickly. All credit to the driver getting to us down narrow country lanes! All in all, would highly recommend.

I have worked with David Dale for years now and would never use anyone else, absolutely amazing service from all and never ever let me down with anything. They keep in touch all the way and really do care... great work and look forward to do more

Having originally arranged our removal for the end of March, lock-down intervened! However, we managed to work around this over the following months and have recently had a very successful delivery of our furniture from store. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient; the driver and colleague did an amazing job, negotiating the traffic in the village, and accessing the property via country lanes and tight turnings. Thank you!

I have used David Dale removals to and from Spain 3 times now. They provide a competitive quote and an excellent service. Their staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them.

We moved On 4th April 2018 from a 4 bed detached we had occupied for 23 years. We had a mountain of stuff to shift. Mr Dale attended in person beforehand to give a quotation and his company supplied boxes for us to begin the packing process. Further boxes were supplied as required. The removal team arrived with a massive lorry the day before moving day and loaded all we had packed, plus furniture, garden, shed and garage stuff, before taking it all away to bring it back on moving day morning to load everything that was left.

The team had loaded everything by 11 am and set off to our new property to await completion. The new property proved to have difficult access through a single gated wall and down some 17 steps. Our 3/4 seater sofa had to go over the wall. The team had everything unloaded and in our property by 6 pm. No breakages, nothing damaged, all accounted for, and in constant and heavy rain the whole day.

Nothing was too much trouble. The David Dale team, Tony, Andy, and Jody, were excellent throughout, and went above and beyond, in our view, to provide a 5 Star service. We couldn't have done better.

Seemless from start to finish - UK to Spain. David is a no-nonsense gent but dont let that put you off. He obviously runs a tight ship and although our furniture arrived a day late it was still a great experience. The lads did a great job and got a tip for their efforts. Would highly recommend.

I instructed David Dale to move me from London to Scarborough. The guys were very helpful and on time. They were very carefull and wrapped all of my paintings immaculately. I would refer this company to all my friends and family. I have given David Dale a 5 star rating as I would use them again. I did help the guys to carry most of my boxes into the truck in London most people I know would not be happy to do this.

The only thing that went wrong was a foot broke of a very expensive ornament. They kindly refunded my Waiting Waiver of 56.00 twice. I thought this was compensation for me not making a claim on their insurance. Now they are asking me to refund this 56.00 as it was an error on their side. I hope in view of the situation and my expense in having my ornament repaired they will decide not ask me to refund the 56.00. Karl

We moved from France to Cumbria in September/October and were very happy overall. The teams arrived on time at both ends, worked quickly and efficiently, and were polite and friendly. Things were packed well, furniture was unpacked and transported properly, so there was minimal damage (I speak as someone who's done a lot of international moves: this was probably the best).

The admin side was also efficient and flexible, which is necessary when you're selling a house in France. We'll be moving again within 12 months and there's a good chance it will be with David Dale.

I regret my experience has been a true nightmare. The misquoted me and asked for extra money if I wanted my furniture back, changed collection date the day before it was due, seriously damaged my furniture, did not allow me to use the insurance they sold me (missold?), and then it took me six weeks to recover the damaged furniture only after seeking legal advice and resorting to giving them an ultimatum to take them to Court if they did not do it. Worst experience ever with a service provider!

We Have recently used the services of David Dale Removals. To cut a long story short, we were going through a nightmare move, and needed to qqsecure the services of a removal company at somewhat short notice. We approached David and his team and asked if they could help. They were more than willing. We bought packing boxes from them and packed our possessions ourselves.

On the day of our move the truck and staff arrived on time and got down to the task of loading. As everything, bar things we had been using, was packed and furniture dismantled, the loading process took the morning to complete. Our truck and removals were near our new home before we had arrived. We were moving 2 and a half hours away. The following morning the truck arrived early and we had offloaded by lunchtime.

Without the help of David and his team we would have never achieved our move so well. Our sincere thanks to David, Lisbet and the guys for all your hard work. It is greatly appreciated.

David Dale removals are fantastic, they really know their business, like no other. We have had many moves over the years, David Dales are the best. They moved us from Spain 8 years ago, due to circumstances all the items had to go into storage, we have only just unpacked our boxes. There were no breakages because they were so expertly packed and sealed. There removal men could not have been more helpful. Used Dales to move from England to Ireland with a whole house contents and a car! They were perfect for us, even moved our full plant pots. Nothing broken and turned up on time.

A positive experience. I suppose I was a relatively easy customer with flexibility on dates and times for a move from the UK to Spain, but some of the items moved were extremely fragile and of considerable value and everything arrived in perfect condition and at the agreed time. They looked after my goods and the price was OK, which I suppose is the most important thing.
