260 a month for a short term rental whilst we move house - not a chance. Storage King's takeover isn't going to last long at those prices!

Had a quote from McCarthy's online for 30 per week. Called back after numerous call from them. Told me they had been bought out by Storage King and the price went from 1 for the first month to 260 for every other month after that. Wow! I wanted to rent 100 square foot not mortgage it! Good luck getting customers with those prices.

Very nice place. Vicky was very nice and helpful but sadly she couldn't accommodate my needs because storage size I need it was not available.

McCarthys.... you are expensive but the team that moved me today were excellent. Boiling hot day but processed the load in perfectly. Unload was equally efficient and all 3 of them made the process easy. They introduced themselves by name at the start and were in good spirits throughout the whole experience. All my items were looked after and if anything needed protecting i.e. mattress, they wrapped up before loading. I cant remember the names now but on my crew sheet it looks like Parky, Reece and B. Black. Solid effort boys!

I cannot recommend Mc Carthy’s highly enough. Our moving process has been thwarted with delay upon delay and every time we have asked for the dates to be extended , there has never been any issues , just a understanding and great service. We have moved from a home to a rental home , then part into storage, then another move with all furniture into storage and finally today after 18 months all furniture delivered back to our new home.

The guys on every delivery have been fantastic and smiled , packed and laughed all day long. So yes read some of the negative comments, but I can assure you this family firm is top notch. Thanks from the Irwin’s.

Long term business customer for 3+ years - storing inventory and managing daily business activities. Very happy here with the help and ongoing support from Joe and the team over the years including Wendy & Paul, always a professional attitude and consistent help to accommodate me with short notice and long terms needs/requests that have helped to grow business.

My short notice/long terms requests include - reception parcel drop off for courier collection (safe and secure with CCTV on reception), storage unit upscale support with speedy responses/quotes/viewings and upcoming availability notification taking my requirements into account - this has really helped me to scale quickly when business has grown quickly (eliminates those lengthy landlord contracts! 30 days notice at McCarthys with no further deposits) Pros - WF1 location, Free car parking for customers, Reception services - deliveries/collections, loading bay for pallet deliveries, zero business rates, flexible storage terms/notice periods, security/cameras, keypad code entry, dry and clean storage, good access times 7am-10pm Cons - no complaints that affect my storage/business activities, but to be aware as a business - no on site skip/commercial bins

Used McCarthy's during a house move. They had a good range of storage units available and I was impressed with the cleanliness and security of the whole site. All the staff were very helpful and I would happily use them again. Definite recommendation. Service: Self storage

Very friendly and efficient staff. Even during Covid they have gone out of their way to provide materials and boxes in a safe and timely manner. Our charity, The Zikomo Trust, has been able to function with the support of staff at Wakefield - thank you!

We have just been moved from our house into rented - a penthouse two floors up. Jordan and Lee were absolutely brilliant - nothing was too much trouble and they looked after our things and ourselves with such care and kindness. They made a very stressful experience of moving into an enjoyable one and I would recommend Lee and Jordan to everyone. They used their strength and expertise throughout the two days. You were really great! Thank you and we will be hoping Jordan and Lee will move us into our house when it is ready.

You maybe aware that we recently lost our storage area as it was needed for other use. We are extremely grateful to announce that McCarthy’s have come to our rescue and given us an idea storage place to houses all clothes donations and other essentials needed to support our homeless friends. At one point had McCarthy’s not offered the support they have we would have had to stop accepting donations of clothes and other essentials.

This would have had a huge impact on the support we give to our friends living on the streets and in the homeless shelters. The staff at McCarthy’s have been extremely kind and caring and it’s been our pleasure to deal with them and they have made our transition so simple and smooth.

I've just been into the Wakefield depot regarding storage it's a possibility we may need this over the next few weeks. I was greeted by 2 very friendly team members that were very very helpful and informative. Great customer service experience like nowhere else. Will definitely use MC.Carthy's if needed. Excellent service and lovely ladies.

Covers all possible storage needs. From selling boxes and bubble wrap to supplying secure storage. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Fully explaining how everything works in layman's terms. The facility itself is large with plenty of storage areas. Also has trolleys to help move larger items and one heavy goods lift. Seems reasonably priced also. Can't fault the place.
